ABSTRACT

The COVID-19 pandemic has had much impact on all industries. Aviation is undoubtedly one industry in which the number of flights has seriously diminished. The boards of each country are closed, and travel agencies lose their business because the travelers gave up going abroad. All of these tangling factors have seriously damaged the avenues of the airlines; in most countries, the COVID-19 pandemic caused more than 50% of flight cuts. According to IATA data, by October 2020, the average of flights in global airline industries had dropped 70% in terms of passenger miles in millions compared to the same month in 2019. Despite the unprecedented challenges above, many airlines are seriously scrutinizing their costs and looking for optimized models to stabilize operating costs and keep business running.
